Source: Apple Already Manufacturing iPod Touch With Camera & Microphone

We recently wrote about some rumours on the Internet about the next generation of iPod Touch equipped with a camera. Well, now a reliable source with inside knowledge tells us those rumours are true. In fact, according to him/her, China is already manufacturing iPod Touch’s with camera and microphones and he/she expects to see this new generation of camera/microphone equipped iPod Touches on sale “in two to three months”. When contacted about this, an Apple spokesperson declined to comment on the subject.

The new generation of iPod Touch could pose a huge threat for telephone providers, since it would be using VoIP (Voice Over IP). The capabilities of an iPod Touch with integrated camera and microphone could be endless, since it will support even more applications from the Apple App Store. It raises the question as to how successful the next generation of camera/microphone equipped iPod Touch will be, given we’ve seen a similar and unsuccessful device: the Sony Mylo Internet Device COM-2 which had a lot of the capabilities the new iPod Touch will have including camera, microphone, VoIP, web browser, etc.
