Big Versions Of Google Maps Markers Placed Around The World

GoogleMaps_MarkersIn order to promote Maps and its new additions, Google has placed big versions of it’s upside-down tear-shaped markers all around the world. The statues mark the real location of the favorite places of well-known local experts from cities around the world. Each statue features a painting of something that represents those local experts or the cities that helped with the project, for example some of the ones found in San Francisco, California proudly wear a painting of The Golden Gate bridge. Witnesses report that the plates on the statues say “Summer 2009″, which makes us think they won’t be hanging around for long. If that’s the case, Google should consider that summers seem to be lasting longer due to Global Warming nowadays. Although, Google announced this project on their official blog, they’re not giving any information about how long the statues will be kept for.
