Microsoft Silverlight 3 Available For Download

Microsoft has officially released Silverlight 3, a plug-in which allows for media playback and interaction (Microsoft’s Version of Adobe Flash). This new version has apparently improved capabilities when it comes to streaming video, among other things. While Silverlight is not talked about too much in the tech world, that isn’t to say it’s not popular. Microsoft reported over 300 million downloads of Silverlight in a period of just under two years. About 300,000 developers utilize Silverlight.
Most notably, Silverlight is used for Microsoft’s popular Photosynth, perhaps made somewhat famous by CNN during the Obama inauguration.
