Checking Your Email Should Be Simple … Not With AIM Mail
You see, I always thought that checking your email should be the easiest thing to do on the internet. I mean, a majority of free email providers make it easier than wiping your own … counter. Not so with AIM email service.
In all honesty, I haven’t logged into my AIM account on my PC in quite a while, as I’m always logged in through my BlackBerry. Upon signing on, a notification came up on the lower right-hand part of the screen indicating I had one new message – how convenient. I figured it was just a silly newsletter, seeing as how I don’t distribute that address or use it at all.
Upon loading the browser, it took me a few seconds to find anything of importance. To my amazement, I found a dialogue to the right (pictured) with a Captcha image. To make matters worse, it was potentially the blurriest letters I’ve ever seen (I know, that’s the point). I’m understanding the whole security issues, but seriously. Last time I checked my mail, I don’t remember a troll asking me to solve a riddle. The fact of the matter is, this is more than security – it’s an annoyance. AOL should seriously consider removing the Captcha.
Does anyone actually use AIM mail? More so, don’t these Captcha verifications piss you off beyond belief?
