Mayday, Mayday! Google Apps Engine Has Lost Engine Power!

It’s a tough time for the Google team right about now, as they are apparently having issue with their App Engine. Reports of “elevated Datastore latency and error-rates, as well as elevated serving error-rates” were reported this morning by a Google employee on a Google Groups thread, according to TechCrunch. It has been hours since, and the Google App Engine is still down in “unplanned maintenance mode”.
Many are assuming something catastrophic has occurred, but the lot of us have no idea what is going on – as details are still sketchy. We’ll keep following this.
Update: After 6 excruciating hours, looks like the Google Apps Engine is back up and running.
