Apple: 1 Million iPhones Sold And Counting

June 22nd, 2009 Posted in Technology, U.S. by Bertrand
millioniphoneNever mind the part in my last article where I say the iPhone 3G S hype is dying. Today, Apple reported that up to Sunday, June 21 [yesterday], 1,000,000 iPhone 3G S were sold. All this despite the short lines and the growing number of problems that were reported during the weekend. Apple also announced that 6 million users have downloaded the new OS 3.0 for the iPhone and iPod Touch in the last 5 days after the launch. Seems it was a great weekend for Apple, so great in fact it got recovering Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs out of bed and commenting on the subject:
“Customers are voting and the iPhone is winning. With over 50,000 applications available from Apple’s revolutionary App Store, iPhone momentum is stronger than ever.”
We’re glad Steve is feeling better and strong enough to comment on this matter. Way to go Apple! now you gotta deal with about 1,000,000 high-pitching unactivated iPhones, well not really 1 million but close. Mockery aside, this is a big milestone for Apple, the iPhone and Steve Jobs.
